Why We Rescue Donkeys

Donkey Rescue

There are 44 million donkeys worldwide and unfortunately, a large majority of them are subject to abuse, neglect, are often overworked and left in agony. In addition, their skin has become a profitable commodity for use in a traditional, yet unproven tea remedy. Donkeys are highly intelligent creatures, sociable and calm, capable of independent thinking and decision making.

Why We Rescue Zebras

Zebras are a beautiful species within the equine family that needs our help. Due to their attractive skin pattern and color, and their rarity in everyday life, they are viewed as trophies and prizes for hunters here in the United States. Lodges are profiting thousands of dollars in order to allow a hunter to kill and keep a memento of a zebra whose life is cut short. Our team at All Seated in a Barn rescue Zebras off of hunting sanctuaries like these:

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What are their stories?
We have no idea. That’s the sad thing. They literally are a piece of paper with no information. Over time, we do our best to figure out who they are and what they might have done or been through to piece together as much of their past as we can.
  • How do I adopt from ASIAB?
You’ll want to send us an email with exactly what you’re looking for. We want to make sure we have a horse/donkey that fits YOU before you come out. We don’t believe in window shopping and truly want to make sure we set not only you up for success, but the horse or donkey as well.
  • How much does it cost to adopt a horse or donkey from ASIAB?
It just depends on age, ability, training etc.
